Hi i3 Friends, Family, & Newcomers,
As we enter into the new year there are a lot of changes going on behind the scenes. Let us first welcome Dr. Kayla Booth as the new i3 Director (!!!). She started her i3 career as a PhD Teaching Fellow, spent several years as the Assistant Director, and is thrilled to step into this new role so she can continue to work with future i3 students, alumni, and help our community grow.
With Kayla’s transition comes a new face to some: Dr. Elizabeth (Lizz) Eikey. She will be joining us as the new Assistant Director. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Lizz, she is a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Informatics and the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). Lizz became involved with i3 because she is passionate about supporting underrepresented students and believes that solving the world’s most imperative and challenging problems can only be done by engaging individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
